School Eco Garden and Sustainable Living Education
The school has a fantastic Eco garden and outdoor learning area.
Composting, worm farms, planting, monitoring, measuring, harvesting and cooking are features of this program.
A joint student, Environment Committee and parent garden club work in the garden every Tuesday.
The produce is then used in the canteen and sold at a regular Market Stall at school.
Other initiatives include
- Paper recycling
- Timed power
- Water tanks for the Eco garden and playground irrigation
- Participating in environmental programs such as Clean Up Australia, Wingecarribee Shire Council Environment Day Fair and Earth Hour
Following gardening activities, we have been lucky enough to have parents organise for students to cook our produce. We picked some spinach from our eco-garden and cooked Spinach pizzas. YUM!!!!!!!
