As part of our staff professional learning in 2012 and now in 2013, we have been developing skills in teaching reading and comprehension. This program, "Focus on reading" has aimed to increase student comprehension when they are reading, listening, looking etc.
As part of this program, staff and students have together been learning new strategies for helping to comprehend (or make sense of) what we are reading. These are the 6 strategies we have been working on:-
